Please help fix the loading problem we just started having. We have tried to fix on our own. Go to our homepage to see the problem.

    Hey coreyritter,

The problem seems to be related to the redSlate.png named image.

Your site tires to load it from here: http://108.80.11.7:8888/bodydesignu/wp-content/uploads/ and this is causing the slow loading of the slider.

Please check on this image and its path if there's anything wrong with it (not accessible etc).

I have located and deleted the redslate.PNG but it did not seem to resolve the slowdown of the slider loading.

I also deleted the entire slide that the redslate.PNG file was associated with. No luck.

We have looked into this further and it seems like the issue is not caused by a single image. The 'photo-contest' plugin generates a JS error that is causing the slow loading problem.

Please try to temporary disable it to see if that solves the issue. In case it does, please check whether there is a newer version available that might fix this. If there is no new release, please contact with the author of the plugin as they can provide more insight and possibly a solution on this case.

We deactivated the Photo Contest Plugin and the slider is still not working/loading properly.

    Please advise.

As I can see the redSlate.png is still being used. I'm not sure from where did you delete it exactly but the slider still tries to use it. You will need to remove it from the plugin as well (it is being used as a slide background), not just from the media library.

Also, there are multiple JS errors on your site that could easily interfere with the plugin and causing problems. They are generated by the following: 'countdown-widget', 'leadbox' and a 'retina.js' error that is related to your theme. Please also check on these, you can see the errors in the browser console.

I feel like we are guessing at what it may be. I need to know exactly what the problem is and how to fix. This is my expectation for having support. Please call me so we can quit going back and forth. These did not fix the issue and this is on our live homepage.

We are sorry about the inconveniences but this is how troubleshooting goes. When the issue is not located in our plugin but rather generated by an external source, first we have to figure out what is the exact cause of this conflict so we can address it properly. There are numerous possible sources of this problem (JS errors, missing images, 3rd party plugins) and this is how we can investigate it.

Please set up a temporary WP login for us so we can look into this further on your back-end. Make sure to set the message to prive so others can't see it.

We have logged in and managed to fix the problem. As we have mentioned before the issue was related to the global background (redSlate.png). It had to be removed so the plugin does not try to access it and the slider is loading properly now.

Not sure what image was redslate.png, we have not changed anything with the background and over a year and that file was not in the media bin. The slider was working fine up until last few weeks.

Anyhow thanks for fixing the issue.
