I’m running into an issue on my WordPress site and would appreciate your guidance:
Context:
I have multiple LayerSlider instances on a single page.
I want my WordPress menu (using Custom Links) to navigate directly to a specific slide within a given slider.
What I’ve done so far:
Assigned a unique Deeplink alias to each target slide (e.g. atelier).
Enabled the “Change URL Hash” option in the slider settings.
Created menu links in WordPress of the form #layer_slider_1/atelier.
Problem:
When I click the menu link, the URL updates to #layer_slider_1/atelier but the slider does not jump to the specified slide.
Could you please advise on the correct procedure or settings I might be missing to make this work? Alternatively, if there is a simpler solution to achieve the same result, I’d be very interested to hear it.
After checking your website, it seems that the “Change URL Hash” option might not be enabled for the LayerSlider instance you’re referring to. When this option is properly enabled, we should see the URL hash updating automatically as you navigate through the slides.
I had actually already enabled the “Change URL Hash” option in the LayerSlider settings, and I assigned a unique deeplink alias like slide1 to the slide I wanted to target.
Then, in my WordPress menu, I added custom links using different formats such as:
#slide1
#layer_slider_1/slide1
#layerslider_1/slide1
Unfortunately, none of these seemed to work. When clicking on the menu links, there was no scrolling or redirection to the correct slide nothing happened.
My goal is to link my WordPress menu items (custom links) to specific slides. Could you please clarify the correct steps or URL structure to make this work? Or let me know if there’s a more reliable method to achieve this?
Just to clarify - on which slider exactly did you enable the "Change URL Hash" option? What is the slider ID you're using?
If it's set to ID 1, then please note that this slider contains only a single slide. In such a case, deeplinking wouldn't really have anything to scroll or navigate to, since there's only one slide available. The deeplink feature requires at least two slides to be meaningful.
Let us know the slider ID and we'll be happy to take a closer look and guide you from there!
I enabled the "Change URL Hash" option on my LayerSlider titled "What is ACD" (Slider ID: 10).
I set the deeplink alias of slide 5 to slide5.
→ My goal is to link a WordPress menu item labeled "Qu’est-ce que le projet" to slide 5 of this slider.
I also enabled "Change URL Hash" on the LayerSlider titled "State in France" (Slider ID: 5).
I set the deeplink alias of slide 1 to slide4.
→ In this case, I want the menu item "L’état de la consommation durable" to point directly to slide 1 (deeplink slide4) of this slider.
Could you please guide me on how to correctly format the custom links in my WordPress menu to achieve this behavior? Or if another approach would work better, I’m open to suggestions.
You're right the URL hash does change when clicking the menu items (e.g., #slide5 or #slide4), but unfortunately, nothing else happens afterward.
I'm not being redirected or scrolled to the corresponding slide in the slider. It’s as if the deeplinking isn’t triggering any visible navigation or animation.
Is there anything else I need to configure on the page or in the slider to make this work correctly?
Unfortunately, using a deeplinked URL (e.g., yourdomain.com#slide1) will only navigate the slider to the specified slide. However, it will not scroll the page to the slider itself. If the slider is outside the viewport, it will switch to the correct slide, but the user will only see it after manually scrolling down.

Hi George,
Thanks for getting back to me.

Thanks in advance,
Thanks for the details.

Hi George,
Thanks for your reply.
To clarify:
I enabled the "Change URL Hash" option on my LayerSlider titled "What is ACD" (Slider ID: 10).
I set the deeplink alias of slide 5 to slide5.
→ My goal is to link a WordPress menu item labeled "Qu’est-ce que le projet" to slide 5 of this slider.
I also enabled "Change URL Hash" on the LayerSlider titled "State in France" (Slider ID: 5).

Thanks again for your help,
As I can see, the "change URL hash" function is now working.
For linking in the menu, use the following URLs:
#slide5 - for the deeplinked slide: slide5, and
#slide4 - for the deeplinked slide: slide4
But this will only change the corresponding slider to the required slide and won't scroll to that slider on your page.
