I use Layerslider on above website for my local MSP. They wanted a News Posts slider on the homepage that displays details about "Posts" they have created. The isssue has always been that the slider uses the "Featured Image" of the actual Post to create the slider. However having used the image in the slider thatimage does not display on the actual post and you end up with a Post that is just text. This has been an issue for a long time and I was hoping there might have been a solution. The client is asking me (again) to fix this .. or find an alternative slider. Hoping you guys have come across this issue before and solved it.
Thanks for reaching out! If the issue is that the featured image is not automatically appearing in the slider, it’s because LayerSlider does not insert it by default when pulling post content. Instead, you need to add the featured image as a dynamic layer.
Here’s how you can do it:
1. Open your LayerSlider project and select the relevant slide.
2. Click Add Layer and choose Image.
3. In the Layer Settings panel on the right, find the Set Image section.
4. Click the three-dot menu next to the image field.
5. Select Use Post Image from the dropdown menu.
6. Save your changes, and now the featured image will be dynamically loaded into the slider.
I have the featured image appearing in the Slider. But once it is in the slider it no longer appears in the post. The visitor sees the image on the slider .. follows the read more link to the post .. but the post itself is now just text. The client wants the image to appear on the slider .. and still be in the post. Is that possible ?
A featured image assigned to a post does not automatically appear within the post content itself unless the theme explicitly includes this functionality—which is quite rare. Instead, featured images are typically used for display in search results, blog post listings, social media previews, and other areas where a visual representation of the post is needed.
LayerSlider has no effect on this behavior. Just because the featured image is used in a LayerSlider project does not remove it from your post content—these are separate functions. If the image is missing from your post, it is likely due to your theme not displaying it automatically.
Are you sure this only happens when using LayerSlider? Have you been able to verify this behavior and fix it by removing the feature image from your LayerSlider project? Could it be that the image wasn't appearing in the post content before either? It's worth checking whether the featured image was ever displayed inside the post, as themes typically do not insert it into the content automatically.
