I bought your plugin awhile ago and it's been working well for the sliders on the home page of our art gallery website. But now I tried making a slider and adding a shape and I'm getting the following server error message.
"It seems there is a server issue that prevented LayerSlider from saving your work. Please check System Status for potential errors, try to temporarily disable themes/plugins to rule out incompatibility issues, or contact your hosting provider to resolve server configuration problems. Your HTTP server thrown the following error."
I contacted our hosting provider, Bluehost, but they said everything's fine on their end and I should contact you. Can you please help me with this? Thanks.
Thank you for reaching out to us. My name is John, and I'm happy to assist you. I sincerely appreciate your patience while we worked to get back to you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with using LayerSlider. This is certainly not typical, and we're here to help.
Have you had a chance to check System Status, as suggested by the error message?
Issues like this are usually caused by web server configurations in Apache or Nginx, and only your hosting provider has the necessary access to investigate and make adjustments. We understand that you've already contacted them, but certain factors—like mod_security and other content-filtering solutions—often slip through unnoticed. These mechanisms can automatically block requests based on specific criteria, such as the request body size, leading to unexpected issues when you try to save your work.
Even if your hosting provider didn't identify anything initially, we strongly recommend asking them to review the server logs, including the PHP error logs. These should clearly indicate the source of the problem you're experiencing. If the issue only started occurring as your project grew, it might be related to hitting a certain limit—whether it's memory usage, request size, or another server constraint. However, I believe it's likely related to the shape's SVG content and a filtering solution they use that incorrectly blocks the HTTP request.
Since only your web host can access and modify these settings, we encourage you to provide them with these details. With the right approach, they should be able to identify and resolve the issue quickly.
