Limited availability during the holidays
Another busy year is coming to its end, and an exciting year lies ahead. In order to get ready for a fresh new start, our team will spend a few days' rest during the winter holidays. Over the holiday break, we will have reduced staffing from December 20th, 2024, to January 5th, 2025, so please be patient if you do not receive a response as quickly as you normally would.
We send our warmest wishes for happiness, health, and success throughout the coming year. Thank you for your continued support, and may you have a peaceful and blessed Happy Holidays!
The size of a backup of our website is about 4GB cause we use many galleries supported by LayerSlider.
Now we need to save space and plan to delete unused media files in WordPress. What cleanup plugins supports LayerSlider media management?

Hi Frank,
Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is John, and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working toward your case.
Unfortunately, I don't think there's a solution to this particular problem. Uploaded items in the Media Library don't have an "owner", and you can use any item at any time at any place. Since WordPress doesn't keep track of the places where an item was used, it's impossible to identify unused media reliably. That's also the reason why LayerSlider doesn't attempt to delete media files used in a project when you remove that project. We simply have no way of knowing whether you used a media file elsewhere, even if it was originally uploaded by or through LayerSlider.
I'm not familiar with any plugin that offers a feature like this. Even if there are some, I don't think they are reliable. They would likely attempt to scan your posts and pages, which wouldn't cover your entire site, specifically third-party plugin and theme features.
Best Regards,
John | Kreatura Dev Team
