Limited availability during the holidays

Another busy year is coming to its end, and an exciting year lies ahead. In order to get ready for a fresh new start, our team will spend a few days' rest during the winter holidays. Over the holiday break, we will have reduced staffing from December 20th, 2024, to January 5th, 2025, so please be patient if you do not receive a response as quickly as you normally would.

We send our warmest wishes for happiness, health, and success throughout the coming year. Thank you for your continued support, and may you have a peaceful and blessed Happy Holidays!

    Hi,

I have created about 7 Project in layer slider and on producing the 8th I am not able to select it from the Avada Editor drop down tp add it to an element.

The other projects work satisfactorily but once I have created more that 7 none of the new ones seem to be able to be loaded to a page.

The first attached is what I see in Avada Back End Builder after selecting a Layer Slider Element.

The second is a list of projects and hopefully you will see that #21 and #22 are missing from the drop down selection.

I have cleared caches many time but the issue remains unresolved

    Regards

    Bob

    Hi Bob,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is John, and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working toward your ticket.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulties using LayerSlider with Avada. That dropdown list is part of the Avada Builder, and the theme author controls the number of projects listed there. I've quickly tested this on our test servers, and it should be a scrollable list with more than 7 projects. I'm not sure what the issue could be in your case, and I'd recommend contacting ThemeFusion to ask for their assistance.

In the meantime, you don't need to rely on their solution to embed your projects. You can use any of the standard embedding methods, including using shortcodes in a text block.

    Hi John,

Thanks for the reply. I tried  using short codes in a text block I had a mix of successes and failures.

It appears that previous projects I created but had which been published prior to the issues I am having have stopped working. They appear in the scrollable list and can be selected and inserted but they aren't activated on preview.

The stance thing sis that I have created two projects (one a top var pop up and the other a bottom bar pop up) and these are both published to a live site and working. However two other pop up create since these two do not appear in the scrolling list and when I'm[le,emted by using their shortcakes in a text block do not activate on a preview.

However in Layerslider all the projects are available and editable and can be previewed within Layerslider which I find very confusing!

    Very strange behaviour indeed!

Thank you for the additional details, Bob.

Shortcodes should work in all cases, but you might need to empty the caches depending on your caching and optimization solution. Also, the page editor's preview mode can be tricky since themes and page builders can modify or replace it completely with their own, which might not work properly for 3rd party plugins in certain cases. However, published pages viewed on the front end should work as intended.

I've revisited your original message to recollect everything there is to know about this issue and noticed that you have two projects saved as drafts. It's possible they won't appear in the dropdown list if you never published them. Again, it depends on Avada's implementation and other circumstances, but may explain the situation.

    Hi,

Totally confused! 've cleared each I don't know how many times! I've  resaved and published the projects several times. It makes no difference.

Why do only two of the projects work when previously they all worked!

I created the two that worked and then a further two which didn't work. I then went back to the earlier projects that worked and they now don't.

I cant see how you tell that projects are in draft! How? They're a;; saved and published within Layerslider!

How about I delete the Layer slider plugin completely and then add it again?

Layer slider is no use to me in this state!

    Frustrated

    Hi,

Spent ages going through the projects and even created blank test projects. I eventually resorted to exporting all the projects saving them in a directory on my NAS drive. I then cleared all the cache that I have access to. I then imposed the exported projects one by one and carefully check all the settings etc.

The first one imported correctly, it was saved and published and I was able to see it in the Avada Drop Down selection and I could preview it in a published test page I had created. All good.

I repeated the process for the other projects bring each on back in turn and was successful in importing them and publishing them in the test page.

So exporting, deleting and importing and publishing seems to have solved the problem from what I can see.

I can't explain it but not worried as I now have my pop ups and sliders back for now so all is well again. Must have been a glitch somewhere! All good for now!

    Thanks for you assist.

    Regards

    Hi Bob,

I'm really glad you could solve the issue, and I'm sorry about the longer-than-usual response time due to the weekend.

I'm not sure what the problem might have been. The things you described sound strange and shouldn't work like that. Again, the dropdown menu in the page builder belongs to Avada, and we have no control over what they list in that menu. My theory with the unpublished projects and how I could tell can be seen in your second attachment (Layer slider Projects.jpg). It's the yellow floppy disk icon before the name of some projects, indicating saved but unpublished changes.

Exporting and reimporting projects shouldn't change anything in LayerSlider, but it does have significance if Avada's dropdown shows only published projects. Since the import must create an entirely new and separate project, anything you import will automatically be in a published state, even if you imported a project that was originally in a saved draft.

I'm unsure if there's any issue on our side, but we'll try to reproduce it on our test installs. If necessary, we'll reach out to Avada's team.
