Limited availability during the holidays

Another busy year is coming to its end, and an exciting year lies ahead. In order to get ready for a fresh new start, our team will spend a few days' rest during the winter holidays. Over the holiday break, we will have reduced staffing from December 20th, 2024, to January 5th, 2025, so please be patient if you do not receive a response as quickly as you normally would.

We send our warmest wishes for happiness, health, and success throughout the coming year. Thank you for your continued support, and may you have a peaceful and blessed Happy Holidays!

    Hi,

Hope you are well? I have Layerslider installed on WP, with a media folder manager plugin to add folders to the library. This orders the folder in folders such as "Uploads>User-Pictures>Anthony-Haley" These folders are where any uploads for the particular user is able to upload their pics to the site.

What I was interested in is if logged in users would be able to display their images on a layer, dynamically populated from the users folder, displayed in the front end by Layerslider; for instance if we could add a slide which points to a url like "https://mysite/uploads/user-pictures/[UserName]"

Could this be done using the dynamic layer or html layer? if so could you provide some code?

    Really appreciate the help,

    Tom

    Hi Tom,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is John, and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working toward your ticket.

There's likely no way to achieve this if you want a single LayerSlider project that automatically displays the right images based on the logged-in user or the page where it's embedded. You'd need to have multiple projects configured individually. It's still a question whether your Media Library plugin offers a way to identify the authors based on a post type, tag, taxonomy, or other information you can target with LayerSlider under the Configure Post Options screen.

A possible alternative approach would be using custom shortcodes. LayerSlider parses shortcodes in URLs, so you could actually use something like in your example, where parts or the entirety of the URL is coming from a 3rd party source. However, you'd likely need to manually implement and add such shortcodes with custom coding, and we can offer limited assistance since it falls outside of the areas we can help you with.
