I have a website on one.com with word press and i use the avada theme

last weekend, after an automatic update, my website crashed (500 error).  One.com support got the site up an running again, but layerslider will not activate (see website www.advocacystrategy.com)

when i try to activate the plugin i am redirected back to the avada dashboard.

my avada theme is updated and has a purchase code.

my website has an avada licence and a second layerslider licence (i bought one after the last time it crashed in August)

Could it be a problem that i have an Avada licence and a layerslider licence? I don't think this is a problem as my site has worked until this weekend.

    Hi Paul,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is John, and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working toward your ticket.

This is a strange issue that shouldn't happen. I'm not sure what could be wrong since we haven't received such reports so far. Having licenses for both Avada and LayerSlider isn't a problem; many of our customers also use Avada.

I suspect it might be related to the earlier issue with the HTTP 500 error. It would be extremely helpful if we'd know what the issue was. More specifically, the PHP error message could be used to understand what went wrong.

The hosting provider might have modified some files to workaround the issue, and these modifications could lead to the new problem you're experiencing now. I'd recommend removing the currently installed version under the Plugins screen, then re-installing the latest release that you can download from your account.

Since we don't know what caused the earlier error and the underlying problem was likely not solved, there's a chance that it could happen again. If it happens again and your website needs an instant fix, you can simply delete the /wp-content/plugins/LayerSlider folder. Your projects and settings are stored in the database, so deleting the plugin won't affect them, and you don't have to worry about losing your work.
