This slider has all these wonderful transitions for 2D and 3d that I can apply to the slide. But it seems to only apply them to the background image, not the entire slide when it moves to the next one. How do I get the entire slide including text layers and image layers to use the 2d and 3d transitions library when it moves to the next slide?
Those 2D and 3D transitions can be selected only for slide background images. But you can set opening and ending transition(s) for layers. You can - for example - set the same 3D rotating transitions for all your layers to adapt them to the selected slide transition.
You can set the opening layer transition under Layer/Transition/Opening Transition and the ending layer transition under Layer/Transition/Ending Transition. (Please check the attached screenshot).
You can play free with the settings and preview the slide for seeing the result. The opening transition will be playing when the layers are entering the slide and the ending transitions will be playing by default when the slider is changing slides and the layers are exiting the slide.
Ok, I understand. I cant use the pre-created library of transitions such as the 3D one that chops up an image into cubes and rotates to a new image on a group of layers, only the background. The only way to apply transitions to a group of layers is to type in a bunch of manual properties through trial and error to get an effect. These effects are not nearly the quality of the effects in the 2D 3D library. And to get close to the library effects requires knowledge of animation and geometry not easily understood.
I would like to suggest that this gets added in future updates. I do not know if technical hurdles prevent this but adding the ability to apply the transition library to all the layers on a slide would be quite valuable. And frankly something I am surprised it does not do already.

Unfortunately, the slide 2D and 3D transitions cannot be added for layers. It would be almost impossible to do that, it has many reasons, for example, how the HTML markup works. But we will add transition presets (pre-generated transitions) for layers as well so you won't have to play with the settings, just pick one preset which will work out of the box. Of course, you will be able to change the pre-generated transform properties as well or you can save your own transitions as well.
