Limited availability during the holidays

Another busy year is coming to its end, and an exciting year lies ahead. In order to get ready for a fresh new start, our team will spend a few days' rest during the winter holidays. Over the holiday break, we will have reduced staffing from December 20th, 2024, to January 5th, 2025, so please be patient if you do not receive a response as quickly as you normally would.

We send our warmest wishes for happiness, health, and success throughout the coming year. Thank you for your continued support, and may you have a peaceful and blessed Happy Holidays!

I just updated the plugin to version 7.0.4.  Until the update everything was going fine.  After the update the slider does not seem to be loading.  I get a white box in the area of the home page where the images should be appearing.

    I need assistance ASAP.

I have cleared the cache in the Wordpress site and also in the WPEngine admin console for the site.  I have cleared the browser cache also.  I am unable to resolve the issue and need help.

    Hello Richard,

Please show me your website where you experienced this issue. Sas I can see, on the related URL https://www.handapps.com you are running LayerSlider v6.

    Hi,

I had to revert the site by restoring a backup.  That is why it's now working but with an older version.

  • Richard Calienes replied

I am going to try and create a copy of our site and update that copy.  Them I can see if the issue happens again and give you access.  I will advise.

I think you will need to install jQuery migrate 3 but I would like to test it. Could you, please create me a wp-admin access for the test site?

I can fix it. There were many issues. First of all: some scripts and plugins on your site (including LayerSlider 7) need to have jQuery migrate 3.x installed. I downloaded a plugin called jQuery Manager for WordPress then I set the plugin to load jQuery Migrate 3 (please see the attached screenshot).

After that the slider had some font rendering issues which can be fixed easily. If you need, I can make all the modifications also on your live site after you updated LayerSlider to version 7.

    hi,

no problem.  It’s after hours here also.  I am in the USA on the East coast.

If you want to make the changes on the staging site, I can later copy that to production.

    Hello Richard,

I have made the changes but I didn't want to completely change your slider.  It is good to know, that in LayerSlider 6 there was no default font family / size for the layers, but in LayerSlider 7, we did that change. Layers have now a default font family, font size and line height. It was necessary, because without this text layers in the editor and on the live site looked completely different in most of the cases, because on the live site text layers inherited settings from the theme.

I saw that text layers in your slider have no font family / size are specified, so I recommend you to do this once. The other thing: the buttons. I saw that you are using complete html markups to create buttons and I would like to ask you to use button layers in LayerSlider instead. It is much more styleable and it will look exactly the same in the editor as on your live site.

    Hello Richard,

I have tested it under Firefox as well. For me, it seems like fine also in Firefox (please see the attached screenshot). Did you try to clear browser cache?
