After publishing pages with Layerslider it first worked as expected, but later we found that it does not show up other than with a blank, white field. We have tested it on Chrome and Edge. WP is updated to 5.6.2. I use Elementor /PRO.

I have deactivated plugins one by one and just learned that Sitegrounds own plugin - SG optimizer, seem to create this issue. Also the same plugin seem to interupt one other plugin - a image comparison plugins from Crocoblock. So you're right - it looks like this matter is solved.
