I have a button on my slider that I'd like to pause the playing video when I click it. I'd like to use onClick in an href. Is this possible and if so, what would be the onClick syntax?
Thank you for getting in touch with us! There is a built in option to stop media layers with clicking on a layer. Please check the following video about where will you find it: https://www.loom.com/share/9b5eb09908f34a0ba942c4ac93c5f883
This will not work for me as the layer in question is dynamic and already has a link built in using a meta field. If I change this field it causes the layer not to appear at all.
I really need some kind of code that I can put in the <href> for the dynamic field which will pause the player.
I've tried this "built-in feature" on any number of fields, text, video, etc. It simply DOES NOTHING. When changing the slide, the media keeps happily playing along.
Why your designers imagined I would want the video + audio in slide #1 to continue playing on slide #2 is beyond me. Your app should by default pause video and sound when changing slides. This simple common sense. Otherwise if you have 5 slides and 5 videos set to autoplay, you get 5 videos playing on top of each other! WHO would want that?
LayerSlider support Html5, vimeo and youtube players out of the box. You can add other services and they will work, but you may run into such problems that playback will not stop by itself, as the service you are using may not offer this option at all and we cannot control all the media players in the world, as each requires a unique solution.

Hello Bill,
Could you please send me a link where I can check this slider with the video?
Thank you, in advance.

Hello Bill,
As I see you use an iframe with a custom player.
LayerSlider support Html5, vimeo and youtube players out of the box.
