Could you please send me a wordpress admin temporary to your site or export your slider and send it to me? I would like to check your button configuration. If you attach the slider then please rename it before upload because Ticksy couldn't handle whitespace and '-' characters.
You should try to disable the Slider settings / Navigation area / Show Prev & Next buttons on hover option and it will fix this problem. Please check it.

the slider on our homepage has got an issue on mobile: the buttons have to be clicked twice in order to work... any suggestions?
