We have had a longstanding issue with Layer Slider destabilizing and crashing our site.
A couple of months ago, I updated Layer Slider and the site crashed. It turned out that Layer Slider was conflicting with Easy Cart and we had to switch over to WooCommerce.
Yesterday the Layer Slider crashed our home page and displayed nothing but a red error flag saying we had to change settings to let jQuery and Layer Slider operate properly (see first image).
Today the home page was garbled again (see second image): Layer Slider was frozen on one slide; there was a large empty area under the slider; the main nav was pushed off to the left and the links displayed in the wrong colors; another slider on the page wouldn't load at all, and the size and position of the videos at the bottom of the page were wrong.
Many of these same display issues happened when we had to change from EasyCart to WooCommerce.
When I started troubleshooting the issues, it was LayerSlider again. There was a LayerSlider plugin update waiting. I ran the update and now it's working okay again.
That's twice in two days that LayerSlider crashed our site, and in both cases nothing else on the site changed. It's definitely necessary to run updates when needed, but it shouldn't crash the site like that.
We really like Layer Slider, but we've got to stabilize it so it stops breaking things. We don't want to replace it, but we can't have the site going offline without warning like this.
We're sorry to hear that you're having difficulties with LayerSlider. However, we can assure you that the plugin is working and functioning properly as it is used on more than a million websites without any problem.
The multiple jQuery issue usually caused by that a theme or a 3rd party plugin loads a plus jQuery version on your site which is not normal and it can cause problems with other plugins too.
Please if you notice an error, send us a message and we will help you to find what cause the problem. In many cases, the bug is not in our plugin, but due to a javascript error in a 3rd party plugin, the slider is not initialized so it looks like the problem with our plugin.
