We are trying to speed up our site on mobile and provide a good experience, and so we selected the option for the layerslider to "hide" on mobile. However, layerslider will still load and then hide the slider for mobile users. This slows down total page load, shifts the content pretty substantially (which Google stated will impact rankings in 2021), and impacts user experience negatively.
Am I doing this incorrectly? Or do you plan to add this function as it will be vital in 2021 with Google penalizing websites that have large content shifts which Layerslider creates?
I really like your plugin, but I know that Slider Revolution does not load if you disable on mobile. I reallly DO NOT want to switch so hopefully we can find a solution.
Yes, that's how LayerSlider works right now. This is necessary because hideUnder / hideOver is also widely used to create multiple sliders on the desktop depending on the resolution, e.g. for mobile phones, they switch between portrait / landsape mode to display other sliders and in these cases it is necessary not to start loading the images when the user is turning his phone or resizing the browser, but to have a working slider in the background which appears. Not many resources are used by the slider in this case.
However, we are planning to add a feature in the near future which will allow to better customize these things and disable the slider loading on mobile.
