Limited availability during the holidays

Another busy year is coming to its end, and an exciting year lies ahead. In order to get ready for a fresh new start, our team will spend a few days' rest during the winter holidays. Over the holiday break, we will have reduced staffing from December 20th, 2024, to January 5th, 2025, so please be patient if you do not receive a response as quickly as you normally would.

We send our warmest wishes for happiness, health, and success throughout the coming year. Thank you for your continued support, and may you have a peaceful and blessed Happy Holidays!

"Update Failed: Update package not available."

I am on the latest version of WP. Please advise.

    Hello Russell,

Thank you for getting in touch with us!

If you receive an Update package not available or similar error message during the update process it might a symptom of an interfering 3rd party theme/plugin. We are constantly notifying and working together with various authors whenever we notice such issue. Unfortunately, these issues cannot be fixed from our end and a temporary solution is updating manually. Please check this link in our documentation page about how to update LayerSlider plugin manually.

Third-party conflict did not appear to be the problem.

    Here’s the issue I encountered:

The plugin seems to update properly ONLY from the plugin admin page. Attempting to update from the standard Wordpress plugins page produces the error notification ("Update package not available”).

    This should be fixed.

    Hi Russell,

The "Update package not available" error message almost always means that another theme/plugin hooks into the WordPress updater system and messes with the update package. It's quite common for 3rd parties to implement their own updater solution. However, this system is constantly changing and it's really easy to make a small mistake that will cause problems for others. Even the latest version of LayerSlider contains fixes that can help with update issues with certain themes. It's possible that it will also help in your case.

Also, what do you mean exactly on the "plugin admin page"? Is it LayerSlider's own admin page where you can see all your sliders? We've tested the updater with all possible scenarios and it should work whenever you are on your WP admin area. If that's not the case with you, then it's likely an interfering 3rd party. Especially theme that include LayerSlider might implement their own updater solution.
