    Hi support Team

I started with constructing a new website and got in trouble with displaying navigation buttons or bullets based on Layerslider WP. I tried to use different free or premium templates. The displayed icons are always strange. Left and right arrows whit shadows or unknown symbols, slide buttons lower than the start, stop button line etc.

Now I cleaned the installation and installed it from scratch as a minimum. As you can see on <<link removed>>, the slide buttons are missing. Same behaviour on Chrome, Edge or Android.

What I have done for this environment:

    • Installed WordPress 5.4_de_CH from scratch (no backup used!).
    • PHP version 7.4.4
    • Theme Enfold 4.7.4
    • Layerslider WP (paid version, later, I intend to use a Premium template) version 6.11.1
    • Defined an own simple slider (no copy or modification of an existing one)
    • All plugins are deactivated.

    Any idea? Please help.

    Best regards,
    Andreas

    Hello Andreas,

Thank you for getting in touch with us!
As I see your theme overwrite the LayerSlider Gui & navigation styles with CSS and it cause this problem.
You should try to update the latest version of your theme, if it doesn't solve your issue you should contact with the developer of your theme or remove manually the rules from your theme's css file.
If you will have any other question, feel free to ask.

    Hi Kristof

Thanks for your message. Based on your findings, I started from the beginning, installed the latest versions of WordPress and Enfold from scratch. Using the with Enfold bundled version 6.10.0 of LayerSlider, I created my slider from scratch without using a template from LayerSlider template store nor Enfold. This way, navigation buttons, start, stop etc. displayed fine. Everything beautiful and as expected.

Next step, I entered the license key for LayerSlider, still the Enfold bundled version. That means no LayerSlider plug-in installed, no update etc. My slider still works fine.

Next step I installed premium template “Creative Agency” to test. Unfortunately, this shows the slide buttons below and outside the picture. Start-, stop-, next- and previous buttons are fine.

I must conclude that with this simple test LayerSlider and Enfold Theme does not work together.

That leads me to the questions:

    • Is the functionality of the paid LayerSlider plug-in not the same as the Enfold bundled version?
    • Is it even possible to use the paid LayerSlider plug-in together with Enfold?
    • Is there a sequence with the installation of Enfold theme and paid LayerSlider plug-in?
    • Can you please help?

    Thanks,
    Andreas

    Hello Andreas,

    Thank you for your feedback!
WordPress theme authors may include LayerSlider in their work, however, there are some differences between the bundled and licensed versions. Since we don’t receive any share after their sales some premium features and content are available only for our direct buyers. Releasing updates and handling support also the responsibility of the theme author.
It is possible to use the paid LayerSlider plugin with Enfold. The issue caused by that, the theme overwrite the navigation with custom CSS code instead of create a custom skin and that cause this problem. Feel free to update your product and after that you should try to insert sliders to your pages with traditional shortcode instead of the advanced LayerSlider Avia element. You can read more about publishing sliders on this link in our documentation:

If you will have any other question, feel free to ask.
