Stopping slide auto advance

I bought this to create a series of slides that will function like picture books. Big pictures with text underneath them each on a slide and advanced only when reader clicks forward or back. I am having a heck of a time trying to find instructions that will kill the time based advancing and only allow advancing on user click. Please help. Thanks

    Hello David,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.

You can turn off the Auto-start slideshow option in the Slider Settings -> Slideshow tab. That way it will not advance by itself, only when started or navigated manually.

There are many source materials available you can check, that will help you get started using LayerSlider.
The documentation contains detailed information and examples that you can read on the following URL: https://layerslider.kreaturamedia.com/documentation/ You can also read the interactive tooltip & notification messages integrated into the Slider Builder interface, with descriptions of the settings by hovering over each one of them. There are also video tutorials available on video sharing sites, for example, on YouTube. They were created by other users or authors, but still, they can be helpful. Finally, you can import the demo sliders from the Template Store to see what settings we used and how we set them up exactly.

    Thank you Attila.

I already have the auto-start slideshow turned off. Still once I click on the slideshow I don't want it to advance from slide to slide unless the user clicks and I don't see how to do that.

A slideshow in paused state will only start playing if you press the play button.

Instead of using the play button, you will need to navigate using the navigation arrows on the sides.

Or you will need to make custom buttons in the slider that will navigate to certain slides when clicked. You can switch slides by entering a hash tag (#) followed by the slide number that you want to jump to, to the linking field of the layer. For example, if you want to jump to the third slide, you need to enter #3 into the linking filed.

Thank you. I am beginning to understand. My application is simple. I just want simple static slides with texts - picture books - I only want readers to turn pages, like a book.  I think I can do it but now I need to know how to remove the play button. I can't have reader 'starting' the slide show. I don't see anywhere in the documentation how to remove it.

You can disable the slider controls in the Slider Settings -> Navigation Area tab.
