I added a layer of text to a slide and the only options that are enabled for transitions are Opening Transition and Closing Transition. When I try to enable Opening Text Transition or Closing Text Transition, they are grayed out and unavailable. If I then disable the Opening Transition, no other option can be enabled, and even the Opening Transition cannot be re-enabled. I have to log out and log back in to my WP admin area for it to reenable.

Please note that there is no issue like this present in the latest release of our plugin (6.10.), judging from your description, unfortunately it is most likely a conflict problem on your installation.
To start troubleshooting please temporarily disable other plugins and switch to a default WP theme to see if that solves the issue.
Please also check the LayerSlider System Status, located in the Options menu on the WP sidebar, for any related error messages that could provide more information.
As mentioned, this is most likely a conflict problem on your installation with a 3rd party item, that is preventing this functionality from working.
Please proceed with temporarily disabling other plugins and switching to a default WP theme on your installation. Empty cache and then check if that solved the issue.
I was skeptical, but...I deactivated all plugins except Layer Slider and switched to a default theme and...it now works as it should and I can enable all the transitions. Now, I will reactivate my 3rd party theme (The Gem) and see if that was the issue and go from there.

Thank you, but Version 6.10 is the active version installed. The slider has not been added to a theme/page/post because it does not work correctly.
No other transition option can be enabled.

The problem was Easy Mail Forms for Mailchimp. Not sure why, but LayerSlider works great with that plugin deactivated.
