I got LayerSlider WP from a theme, only to realize after purchasing the theme that I also have to purchase LayerSlider. Sadly, the plug-in do not work and I am out of options here.

Problems with the activation method such as this, are usually related to server configuration issues unfortunately. Please check the LayerSlider System Status, located in the Options menu on the WordPress sidebar, for any error messages or notifications that could provide additional information on this case.
It is also recommend to reinstall the plugin with our release. You can do that by manually updating the plugin after downloading the newest release from your account page: https://account.kreaturamedia.com/ You will need to completely remove the bundled version first, as there cannot be two instances of the plugin present on your installation at the same time. Please note that your sliders and settings are stored in the database so they won't be deleted in the process.
