Wie kann ich vethindern, dass layerSlider cookies speichert. Ich verwende kein PopUp, daher ist das setzen von Cookies hier nicht notwendig und weil nicht notwendig auch verboten.

    Hello Nikolaus,

We're sorry, but we can only provide support in English.

Please rephrase your query in English.

    Thank you very much.

How can I prevent layerSlider loading the PoUp-Cookies to a visitors computer. We do not use LS-PopUp and therefore the cookies are not needed and not allowed to load.

    Thank you.

If there is no popup slider inserted to your site, these cookies are not generated either.

But once they are there, it is not possible to unload or remove them. They are either present or not, based on the popup sliders used. Once they were generated by a popup slider, they remain until they expire.

    Attila - hello,

    thank you for answering.

I am not sure if I get you right. I have no popup-Slider on the site (p1.png) but the cookies are set anyways (p2.png). Or do you mean - whenever in history a popup was used in the project, even right at the moment brutus killed caesar, the cookies will always be set, even if all caches are cleared in the browser? ... this issnt true - is it? We live in 2019 now, and there has to be a way to get rid of the cookies.

Naturally, you can easily remove the popup cookies manually in your browser. Like you would do with any other cookie.

  • Nikolaus replied

Yes I know, that i can delete cookies in the Browser. But as soon as I klick to a page, the cookies are back.

And I do - as far as I can see - not use the popup-function of layerslider.

The cookies are only generated when there is a popup slider. You might have deleted it incorrectly, or there is still an embedded popup slider somewhere. If you set the repeat control in a certain way (for example first time visitors), you might no longer see it.

  • Nikolaus replied

"You might have deleted it incorrectly" just tells me that you are not willing to help.

    Ok - no prob.

Of course there are Slides on the pages - if there weren't sliders on the pages I wouldn't ask you. BUT they do not use the PopUp-function, so there is no need to place the cookie.

But after this discussion hopefully, as soon as we might  run into legal trouble, we can proove, that this is a softwarebug. If it really is a bug or if the cookies are placed with intent to spy out user behavior will then be decided by others.

    Thank You

As already mentioned multiple times now, the popup cookies are only loaded when you are using popup sliders on your site. These cookies are used to help the repeat control settings of the popup and show/hide it for certain visitors based on them. If you are using popups, there will be related cookies as well. As also mentioned, you can delete them anytime like you would do with any other cookie on a website. There is no bug and there is no "spying" on users either. Most likely, you are still overlooking something. Please go through your settings again, especially the slider inserting methods and caching (browser too). Thank you.

Hallo Attila - thank you for staying tuned.

As already mentioned multiple times now I do not use the sliders PopUp-functionality on any live page and not on any slider in the backend. In fact i deleted all sliders that anren used on live pages. I do not use any caches and I do not know how to insert a slider other than calling it using its shortcut. When I delete browser cache klick at a new page the cookies are set again. And I am definitely not willing to rebuild 23 sliders until I know what exactly is that "somnething" you are writing I did wrong.

To put a little more light on this "something" is usually the moment when developers tech support appears on the stage. Problems I can solve by myself are usually not problems that I ask help for.

Bying a licence includes support - doesn't it? If support is "uh - yeah - you did something wrong" ... Well - I was in techsupport for digidesign-AVID systems. When a customer in a live recording of Motörhead, Saxon or any philharmonical orchester called me for help with his system ... I am not sure how often i answered "uh - well - you did something wrong". ;)

What about having a closer look at my sliders to find this "something"? I am definitely willing to pay for it - just tell me how much it costs.

    Greetings
    Niko
