Attached is a link to my "Bio" page. It is formatted using the Styles tab, and the slider sits inside a generic Guterberg page with no Theme applied.
I am having trouble formatting my biographical text in a single layer... can you help me figure out a workaround to format it thusly?
1.) I want to force hard returns so there are blank lines between paragraphs. When I try to use a </p><p> tag in the text box (or even when I convert it to an HTML box), I lose my font size and color formatting. I tried a series of <br><br> tags, but that doesn't work either. I have even experimented with <div> and <span> tags (even with a thrown in for good measure), but no luck. How can I force a hard return between paragraphs within a single text box layer?
2.) It seems to ignore my <strong></strong> tags inline, as well as an inline email link <a href="mailto:[email protected]" target="_blank"></a>. How can I make these appear in that same text layer?
The problem is that you are trying to merge multiple text blocks and styles into one single layer. This is not a recommended method, as it can interfere with the layer's responsiveness or other attributes.
I'd recommend to add a separate text layer for each block you want to create. And then format and style them with the built-in options in Styles tab.
Hmmmm.... well, I can control the style for the entire text layer, but it still ignores my inline tags. Even when I convert the text layer to a HTML layer, it still ignores my <strong> tag and <a href="mailto:> tag.
Any ideas why that doesn't work, even as a HTML layer?
OK, I separated the paragraph into separate text blocks, but I still cannot add an inline HTML text link. No <a href="mailto:>, no <strong>... Is there a trick to that? What do I do to make that work?
Please do not use HTML code in your text layers. Instead, use the plugin's built-in options. They are guaranteed to work. You can use the Linking field in the Link & Attributes tab to link your text. And you can style your layers in their Styles tab.

Hello Jim,

I'd recommend to add a separate text layer for each block you want to create. And then format and style them with the built-in options in Styles tab.
This way, they will be definitely correct.
