Hi Attila and George, et al,

I just got Layerslider version 6.9.3 and have been playing around with it... the documentation is OK, but there is a serious learning curve for those of us just starting.

Do you have some video tutorials for beginners to get up and running?
Links to 3rd party tips and tricks?
All I can find on Youtube are tutorials for older versions, and not much published by Kreatura...

Please respond with specific links to recommended YouTube videos to help me organize and streamline the process to get up and running fast. Thanks!

    Jim

    Hello Jim,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.

There are many source materials available you can check, that will help you get started using LayerSlider.

The documentation contains detailed information and examples that you can read on the following URL: https://layerslider.kreaturamedia.com/documentation/

You can also read the interactive tooltip & notification messages integrated into the Slider Builder interface, with descriptions of the settings by hovering over each one of them.

There are also video tutorials available on video sharing sites, for example, on YouTube. They were created by other users or authors, but still, they can be helpful. Unfortunately, we do not have a list of them available.

Finally, you can import the demo sliders from the Template Store to see what settings we used and how we set them up exactly.

    Thank you Attila,

Yes, I've read thru the documentation, and it explains nicely what the settings do, for the most part. What it seems to be missing is some sort of step-by-step instructional manual; on where to begin a project from scratch. I have opened a sample or two or three, and fiddled around with the settings, but nothing in the documentation instructs a "start here and do this and then see stuff slide" type of tutorial.

I've also scoured through a number of video tutorials on Youtube, but many of them are for older versions with apparently different menu items located in different places. Few, if any, show how to build something from scratch. Do I first prepare all my graphics? To what sizes and screen resolutions? Do I start with a slide effect I like and then create graphics as I go?

Layerslider has been on the market for a few years now... surely, other users have reported to you instructional videos that they found particularly valuble to get up and running. Do you happen to have a list of these? If not, can you compile a list from previous comments from other users over the years? Those recommendations would be helpful...

Finally, is there a bulletin board or community group of Layerslider users that might be able to offer such suggestions?

    Thanks for your help,

    Jim

    Thank you for the feedback.

As mentioned, we do not have such list available, and we're not aware of such user group or forum either unfortunately.

There is no predefined way to build sliders. It is completely up to you. There is no order or step-by-step guide you have to follow. You think of something that you want to create/change and then you look for the options to achieve it.

As an addition, we'd recommend to start experimenting with a very simple slider. One slide, one text layer and learn the basics by going through every setting. You will see what exactly each of them does.

Also, we wouldn't recommend using too large images (both in resolution and size). For example we use fullhd images in jpg format, or png for transparency.

And again, the demo sliders provide a great way to test out different sliders with different setups. You will find a slider for each plugin setting/feature that utilizes it.
