landscape desktop vs. portrait mobile

    Hi,

just need some advice regarding the following:

I am working a lot in free (canvas mode), and displaying a slide on mobile should be different to desktop. I got 2 questions:

    1. As I have to readjust layers for mobile view, and the same layer could not be set different per mode (is that right?), I am just copying the layers I want to display also on mobile, and skip the ones I don't want to display. After that I re-adjust the copied mobile layers. This seems a bit inefficient, other sliders (but they are not that well performing as yours) offer handling the same layer per view different (like smartslider3, which I skipped by now for performance reasons and scaling issues)

    2. How to handle desktop landscape (that maybe e.g. 1000 width x 700 height) and mobile portrait (that maybe e.g. 400 width x 600 height) with the same slider? Also here, other sliders (e.g. revolution slider and smartslider3) offer pixel / ratio settings per device and portrait / landscape...as a landscape slider is looking not very good in responsive mobile portrait mode, there is possibly no other solution with layer slider than to create a slider for each device, at least one per desktop and one per mobile, am I right? A good live example  (from a design perspective) to illustrate what I am talking about is the site https://rodrigomarconatto.com/home , just have a look how it slides on desktop vs. on mobile,´(different ratio, and elements are reduced and repositioned)

What I love so far with layer slider, is its good performance (outperforming the other sliders I mentioned above) and its sophisticated layer effect possibilities, but the above is a bit a mess. I hope I am wrong and missed some settings, or there is at least something in the development pipeline on your side.

    Best regards

    Herbert

    Hello Herbert,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.

Yes, that is right. You need to make separate layers for each additional device you want to utilize with the device specific layers. You cannot make all the changes inside one layer.

As the device specific layers feature is only available on the layer level, if you want to make changes on the slider level, you cannot use that anymore. Instead, you will need to build multiple sliders as you have mentioned.

We are constantly developing Layerslider, and version 7 is already in the work that will introduce many improvements and new features. But currently, these are the options the plugin offers for this kind of customization.
