I have purchased the Layerslider with the intention of using the pop up function. I have read MANY articles, including a closed topic from 2018 that appeared to directly respond to this, but there was no conclusion that I could pull from. Please advice why the #example / example isn't working in the ID section.

You might have set it up incorrectly, that is why the popup trigger does not work. Unfortunately I cannot check on it, as you did not provide us with an URL. Please show us your site or a test page where we can see this and screenshots of the popup trigger setup you used. Thank you.
I've checked that URL, but both sliders were working fine for me. A popup slider was appearing in the bottom right corner of the main slider. And there was no indication in the main slider for any trigger button or any other popups.
Please describe what and where should we look for exactly. On what page can we find this setup, from where it should open, and so on. Thank you.
