can't seem to figure out how to update the jquery to rid the site of the error. can you assist?

As I can see, there are multiple jQuery frameworks are included on your site.
One is loaded from: /wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js
and the other is from: /wp-content/themes/brazil-wp/js/jquery.min.js
You should have only one of these, because including multiple jQuery frameworks can cause many issues.

Thanks for your quick response. Can you tell me how to remove one so only one is used? I am not coder so i am learning how to do things.

You should remove this version: /wp-content/themes/brazil-wp/js/jquery.min.js
(this included by your theme)
I think that the theme should be an option for that, I mean, disabling it.
It not, you should ask this from the theme author who should have a solution for this.
