hi, I've installed layerslider (5th attempt now) SUCCESSFULLY but it's not responsive, nothing happens when I click on activate or any other thing on the plugin page. I cant do anything with it since I bought it and really really need to get it working

    Hello Afrisport,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.

Please note that there is no issue like this present in the latest release of our plugin, so unfortunately it is most likely a conflict problem on your installation or a server configuration issue.

To start troubleshooting please temporary disable other plugins and switch to a default WP theme to see if that solves the issue.

Please also check the LayerSlider System Status, located in the Options menu on the WP sidebar, for any related error messages that could provide more information.

hi, I've done this troubleshooting and still cant get it to work, please is it possible for someone to come check it out, really need to get it working. It's just totally unresponsive and the site will soon be launched

Did you also change to a default WP theme in addition to the disabled plugins ? Issues like this are usually related to that.

And did you check the System Status in LayerSlider ? Please check on it and let us know if there's any error there.

    Thank you.

please how do I check the system status, thanks

It's located in the Options menu on the WP sidebar under LayerSlider.

and yes I switched to the default theme, that didn't fix it

below is the screenshot, here is an instance of the unresponsiveness I was talking about, clicking the "show advanced details" or "delete all plugin data" doesn't work or do anything. Same with every button in the plugin. Clicking them does nothing. Even the activate button

We've looked into this further with the login and found the issue. The problem is JavaScript error related, coming from a modified LayerSlider plugin file. This file was modified: /wp-content/plugins/LayerSlider/static/layerslider/js/greensock.js

As the error is triggered by the code in this file, we've compared it with the original plugin file, and found two differences. There are two URLs that were changed from "http" to "https". And this is why you cannot properly access the activation server.

It's likely that you are using some kind of security plugin that searches through your files and modifies them. Or maybe your host installed such service on your server. In any case, the modified files are permanently changed, so temporarily disabling plugins/themes can no longer help, as the problem is already in the file itself.

However, if you reinstall LayerSlider, the original plugin files will be restored, fixing the issue. Or you can also directly overwrite this file through FTP with the original one. The important thing is to disable the plugin/service/method that is responsible for this. Otherwise it will just modify the plugin files again.

We believe the source of the problem is the "SG Optimizer" and its "Force HTTPS" method.

While we understand that the forced use of HTTPS can be a security benefit, this particular case is false positive, there is no benefit to it, and a well-configured server does not need a solution that "blindly" overwrites everything without context and knowledge, because it can easily produce such problems, and it can happen with any other plugin.  Naturally, LayerSlider supports secure HTTPS pages, but this error is of different nature.

hi, I tried a new installation with the force https disabled but it didn't still work. And it's not just the activation server that isn't accessible, even buttons like the "add new slider" one isn't working. I've disabled the plugin and tried a clean installation and still couldn't get it to work. Please is it possible the fix gets done by you guys, I've tried every solution as far as my understanding is concerned and I dont know what next to do. Sorry if this is by any means stressful, I just really need to get it working. Or is because i bought the layerslider plugin without buying the other layerslider js file??

Thank you for the feedback. I'll let the dev team take a look at this and get back to you with the results.

The dev team believes that the issue is coming from your server directly. That is why a clean installation does not help either, as it originates from your server, so you cannot control it (and we cannot see it as we do not have access).

In any case, we are releasing a new update in a few hours. We've implemented a workaround for this in it, and hopefully it will address this issue.

You will need to reinstall LayerSlider (with the download from Envato) for it to take effect. Once you reinstalled it, please empty cache and all should be good.

The new update is up now, you can download and reinstall it.
