Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.
Please note that there is no issue like this present in the latest release of our plugin (6.9.1.), so unfortunately it is most likely a conflict problem on your installation or a server configuration issue.
If the LayerSlider System Status is all green, please continue troubleshooting by temporary disabling other plugins and switching to a default WP theme, empty cache and try to save then, to see if that solves the issue.
Thank you for the feedback. Judging from the error it's most likely going to be a server configuration issue.
For more information, the server logs (php, apache) should be searched. The request gets stuck somewhere, so it's likely web server related. Usually it's the ModSecurity modul, which filters and potentionally blocks requests. For example when LayerSlider tries to send a large amount of data, the requests might get denied by ModSecurity. The default settings should cause no harm, but a lof of hostings change those.
We'd recommend to contact your hosting with this case. They have the necessary tools and permissions to check on the logs, change server settings and investigate this further. They should check on the ModSecurity modul, on firewall settings and on any content blocking method on the server level.
