Customizing LayerSlider for horizontal parallax scrolling very wide images

    Hi there

I try to customise/configure the LayerSlider in a way that a very wide image on a single slider is scrollable. It should be possible that a user is able to scroll horizontally through the image by moving the cursor to the right and also backwards by moving the cursor to the left.

My problem is that I couldn't make this possible in LayerSlider. I've tried this with the parallax transition settings.

    Any ideas?

    Best Regards,

    Viktor

    Hello Viktor,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.

Unfortunately there is no built-in option such as this in the plugin at the moment. The closest you can get is by using the parallax effect. I'd recommend adding the image layer with a size that is bigger than the slider's canvas, so it's reaching out on the sides, and then setting horizontal parallax transition on that image layer and apply a large parallax sensitivity, so it can be "scrolled" with mouse movement.

    Hello Attila

Thank you very much for your reply.

That's exactly what I've tried to do with my extra wide image. The only option I've missed is the parallax level which I now set to 100. That's much better. However, I'm still not satisfied, because I haven't found the best combination of values within the parallax feature of the LayerSlider.

Can you show me an example? Or tell where I can get a user friendly explanation of the options and values of the parallax feature.

Thank you very much in advance!

There are multiple parallax sliders available in the Template Store, you could import them as example. You can also read the interactive tooltip & notification messages integrated into the Slider Builder interface, with descriptions of the settings by hovering over each one of them. Other than that, it's a matter of experimenting, to see what value fits your needs best.

    Hello Attila

    Thank you for the reply.

I've set the layer options as you advised. The only issue that I have is that the layer image moves completely away to the right side of the canvas when I move the mouse into the canvas from the left. By moving the mouse further to the center the image comes back and I can scroll it. How can I make the image not moving when I initially enter the canvas with the mouse? If I could fix this than I'd by happy with the parallax feature of the LayerSlider.

Thank you very much in advance.

The parallax movements are activated when the cursor enters the slider's canvas (from any direction). Unfortunately you cannot disable the parallax for only the initial hover. It's always active.
