Slide transitions can only be used with slide images. However you can recreate almost every slide transition with layers too. A simple sliding animation from top shouldn't be a problem. You can do this with the settings in the Layers -> Transitions tab.
Is there a way to apply the slide transitions to layers. I will want my text to drop from top to the middle of the graphic.
