Slide background images not working in Divi

Our customer wanted to have a slideshow with changing effects.

Since I've worked with Layerslider before, we chose your plug-in again.

We bought a license, downloaded & installed the last stable version.

Setting up the Slider like I used to do it, I encountered it not showing up when I set a background image to one of the slide.

Setting a background color to the slides is working. Setting background-image or color for the whole slideshow also works.

    Transitions are not working either.

    Setup:

WordPress 5.2.2 with a custom child theme of Divi 3.25.4

Shortcode written into a fullwdith-section code module

You can see the white space under the h1 - inspecting it shows that it loads something.

    Hello Starkmarketing,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.

There seems to be a Greensock conflict on that page, causing the hundreds of errors you can see in the console. There is most likely another item/plugin trying to use Greensock, but does not provide compatibility, thus the issue. Please try to use the LayerSlider WP -> Options -> Advanced -> Include scripts in the footer and Use Greensock (GSAP) sandboxing options to see if they help.

We'd also recommend to update everything on your installation, to make sure that you use the latest release of them. Old plugin/theme versions might load outdated jQuery/Greensock that could result in conflicts like this.

    Hello Attila,

    thank you for your response.

All themes / plugins are updated to their newest release and I played with all mentioned troubleshooting options. None of which worked unfortunately.

After checking the console and your hint to Greensock, I found the solution. It was the automatic delivery of compressed webp images via CDN by Shortpixel which caused all the problems. Simply turning it off resolved everything.

    Thanks for your help!

    Have a nice weekend :)
