Limited availability during the holidays

I want to create a slider with 5 slides. Each slide has an image with a few words over it. I would like to be able to have a button (click for more details) which will remove the few words and replace them with a block of text. Then clicking on the text again would close it and replace it with the few words. This would allow me to have 5 specialties in the slider with extra detail on demand. Is this possible? I see the documentation talks about buttons and smart links but there’s no detail there.
