Cannot update layerslider for WP. Message: API key and username not validated.
Update failed: Before you can receive product updates, you must first authenticate your subscription to Elegant Themes. To do this, you must enter both your Elegant Themese username and your Elegant Themes API key in the Updates tab in your theme and plugin settings. Log in to your Elegant Themes account to find your API Key and navigate to the Account> API key page. More information can be found here. If you still get this message, make sure your username and API key are entered correctly.

Unfortunately some themes are restricting the update and/or activation method of the plugin that could result in problems like this.
I'd recommend to manually update the plugin by downloading the newest release from CodeCanyon and reinstalling LayerSlider.
You will need to completely remove the bundled version first, as there cannot be two instances of the plugin present on your installation.
Please note that your sliders and settings are stored in the database so they won't be deleted in the process.
