    Hello Bemofunny,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.

You can find detailed update and installation instructions in the documentation, please refer to the following URL: https://layerslider.kreaturamedia.com/documentation/#plugin-setup You should be able to update the plugin by following these steps.

In case you are getting errors like "Update package not available" and "Plugin not found" or similar messages during the update process, then these are most likely symptoms of an interfering 3rd party theme or plugin.  We are constantly notifying and working together with various authors whenever we notice such issue. Unfortunately, these issues cannot be fixed from our end and a temporary solution is updating manually or temporarily disabling other plugins and switching to the default WP theme.

Another possibility might be a stuck activation. If you've used our online tools to remotely deactivate a site (or asked us to do the same on your behalf) your site might no longer be activated. The same can be true if your purchase code has been revoked due to a refund or another reason.  In cases like this deactivating your license in the plugin and then immediately re-activating it can help.

And if everything else fails, you can always update by downloading the newest release from CodeCanyon and reinstalling LayerSlider.  In this case you will need to completely remove the current version first, as there cannot be two instances of the plugin present on your installation.  Please note that your sliders and settings are stored in the database so they won't be deleted in the process. The link above can help with this too.

hmm, interesting. I replied here with my issues and it disappeared.

    I followed the instruction.

    1. disabled the current version
    2. delete the plugins
    3. add the latest version downloaded from codecayon
    4. activate the new plugins
    5. go to my sliders
      1. all the featured images are gone
      2. click on anyone of them see a blank screen.

Have to do a full restore lost a day of work.

    What happened?

There is no known issue like this present in the latest release of our plugin, so unfortunately it is most likely a conflict problem on your installation or a server configuration issue.
To start troubleshooting please try to temporary disable other plugins and switch to a default WP theme to see if that solves the issue.
Please also check the LayerSlider System Status, located in the Options menu on the WP sidebar, for any related error messages that could provide more information.
Please let us know whether you see any errors, or whether disabling items helped.

is it possible I could download previous versions? I think jumping from Version 6.7.6 to  View version 6.8.1 might have cause us the issues.

    Hi Bemofunny,

I'm John from the Kreatura Dev Team.

Sure, we can send you the older version, however, I'm certain that this is not the issue. In fact, it would affect it in the same way.

What I can tell from the screenshot is that the CSS files and some other assets are missing. This is why the page has this "unformatted" appearance. The two possible cause I can think of is:

    - Cache. From WordPress cache plugins to your web browser's caches,  it can be anything. I suspect it's a WordPress plugin that offers optimization features and now it's serving outdated versions of these files. Usually there are a clear /flush cache button. These plugins also supports CDN integration, which also caches these files.

    - File corruption. While it's very rare, it happens from time to time. For example, a small interruption in your internet connection while downloading the plugin package. If the first tip doesn't help, I'd recommend reinstalling the plugin.

    Hi,

On which page are you receiving these error messages? These are very strange, we haven't encountered an issue like this and it's not obvious what could cause them. They shouldn't exists, unless there's a file corruption or something like that.

I've like to recommend to manually re-install the plugin by simply deactivating & deleting the existing version, then installing the new one. Your sliders will remain still.

Also, it's worth trying out to temporarily disable all other plugins and switch to the default WP theme to see if it's a 3rd party issue or not.

    John,

Let me repeat what I have done.

    1. Using the version just prior to the latest version you shipped last week.
      1. Turn off all plugins
      2. Delete Layerslider plugins
      3. Install new Layerslider plugins and activate.
      4. Reactivate other plugins
      5. All featured images missing and click on any slider see blank page
    2. Using the latest version
      1. Turn off all plugins
      2. Delete Layerslider plugins
      3. Install new Layerslider plugins and activate.
      4. Reactivate other plugins
      5. Featured images showed up but click on any slider see blank page

Repeated many times on both version same out come. At least the latest version show featured images.

    Thank you for the clarification.

The blank page is usually a sign of a PHP error. By enabling the WP Debug Mode, you can display the relevant error messages. You can also check the PHP error log files as hosting companies usually offer a way to access them. The exact error message would be really helpful identifying the issue.

Also, please visit LayerSlider -> Options -> System Status and see whether it warns you about potential issues or not.

Can you also replicate the issue while the other plugins are disabled? Based on your description it seems like you've re-enabled them before checking on the issue.

Lastly, we can send you the v6.7.6 install package if you still want to try it out. However, it is a recent release and I'm not aware of any change that could be relevant to this issue. Still, if you send us an email from our Contact page we'll send you back the install package.
