Layerslider export does not work

I have a LayerSlider I need to export from one site and import into another site. When I select the option to Export, it creates a file on my local machine with a name like: LayerSlider_Export_2019-02-13_at_12.05.55.zip

When I go to any of my other sites (all use Metro Style theme), I click on “Import Sliders”. Next I see a prompt called “Import Sliders” that invites me to “Choose File”. I select my newly exported zip file and then click the blue button to “Import Sliders”. The button changes to an amber color and says “Uploading. Please Wait.” There’s no message indication that anything failed, but the new slider does not appear in the collection of sliders.

I have tried it with different a zip files. No change. I have tried on different domains with different hosting providers. No change. I have tried to disable all plugins and then make an export. No change. I have enabled the debug mode 'true' and then made an export. No change.

    Wordpress is version: 4.9.3

    I really appreciate your help!

    Hello Phouthuijzen,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.

Problems with the exporting/importing method such as this, are usually related to server configuration issues unfortunately.

Please check the LayerSlider System Status, located in the Options menu on the WordPress sidebar, for any error messages or notifications that could provide additional information on this case. You are likely missing a server setting that is required for this feature to work.

Let us know of the results. Thank you.

    Hello Atilla,

Thank you for your reply. I have enclosed an printscreen from the System status of the layerslider.

I have another question. We use a template that is quite old and has no more upates. Is this a problem? Should a website always use a template that still has an occasional update?

    Best regards,

    Patrick

Thank you for the feedback. As you can see on the screenshot, you have insufficient server settings. Please follow the instructions of the System Status and ask your host to adjust these server settings accordingly. Or you can also do this yourself, if you have access.

It is always recommended to use up-to-date themes and plugins. Outdated items might contain security problems or might no longer be compatible with new WP methods and functions.

The file I have exported is no more than 207kb. So that could not be the problem.

According to the System Status these are the only missing dependencies that could affect the export/import methods. Please follow up with the recommendations and (temporary) raise those server settings to see if that helps.

Other than this, your theme could also be affecting the exports and making the files corrupt during the exporting method. It is also worth a shot to temporary change themes and try it again. Especially considering that you use an outdated theme.

Please try these two methods to see if they work. Let us know of the results.
