Need help with this slider:   https://brewerdirect.com/direct-marketing-brewer-direct-2/

I had to turn "slideshow" off so that the first slide plays once.

I want the first slide to play, and then I have the looping layers of text. The arrow icon clicks to play a video.

When the video is done I would like it to automatically to to slide #3.  It's just a duplicate of the opening slide. Please tell me how to get that working.

    thank you, Stephanie

    Hello Stephanie,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.

Unfortunately as the slideshow is stopped from the start, it will not advance automatically after the video. You would need to enable the auto-start for that, so the slideshow continues once a slide ends.

A solution would be to  apply a start trigger on a layer, and if that layer is clicked the slideshow will resume. You could apply this on the play icon, so when it's clicked the slideshow will start. Meaning that it will go to the next slide and start the video automatically, and once it ends, go to the last slide. And finally, if you set the loop to 1 cycle in the Slider Settings, it will stop at the end of 3rd slide. The start trigger is a simple smart link:  #start

Hi - I need a little more detail.

So it sounds like I don't enable the auto slideshow, is that right? But rather put a start trigger on the play icon.

Exactly Where and how do I apply a "start trigger" to the play icon?  Right now I'm using the link field with "#2". So when someone clicks on the icon - it moves to slide #2 which has the video. When I tried changing it to the option of "resume slideshow" then the icon didn't work. Need some help please. Seems like a simple function I should be able to do.

So in a nutshell here is what I need to accomplish: Slide #1 opens and moves through the layers of text. When it is done, the "watch now" text and icon appears. User clicks on the icon, and this goes to the next slide that holds the video (unless there is a better way - should the video be on the next layer and can I create a link that way??) After the video is done playing, then I want it to move to slide #3. Slideshow ends on #3 and does not repeat. Can you give me details on how to accomplish this?

Yes, that is how it should work if you follow the instructions from my last reply. The auto-start is disabled by default and you will enable it with the 'watch now' button (start trigger) at the end of the first slide. This start trigger is also a smartlink, just like the #2, so you just need to switch that. From #2 to #start. It is also important that the video autoplays, so the slide can proceed to the 3rd slide when it's finished.

I have this set up how you instructed. However, when you click on the watch now it does not go to the slide for a really long time. It seems like it doesn't respond to the click immediately but rather maybe the the slideshow is getting started but there is something else controlling the timing of when it shifts to the video slide that is next. Help? Really need this resolved. I want the slide to move to the next slide as soon as we click the button. If you can help me figure it out then this is done.

This is likely has to do something with your timings. First, please check your slide duration if it's not too large, causing the delay. Or if it's set to auto, it could wait for every layer to finish and transition only after them. Please also check whether your layers are holding up the slide or not. If you make sure that no layer has too large of a duration, and the slide itself is not set to be long either, the button should work immediately. Again, the timeline view will tell you the exact timing of everything, so you can verify what's holding up the slide change, once the slideshow is started.

You obviously know your plug-in much better than I. If I knew all the ins and outs like what you describe below I wouldn't be asking for help. So, if I send you a log-in under private mode can you take a look at this and tell me exactly how to fix it? I can't waste any more time on it. Or else I just have to rebuild this in Rev Slider which I know can do this. I tried your slider first because I thought it would be easier, but so far it's not. Please let me know.

    thank you.

Thank you. I've checked the slider, but it's working exactly like that currently.

The first slide rolls through, then stops at the end. And when you click the play button, it resumes the slideshow so it goes to the next slide where the video is. The video does have its controls shown properly. Once the video is finished playing, the slideshow advances to the third slide automatically.

Isn't this the result you were looking for ?

  • brewerdirect replied

That's not what is happening. When the slideshow loads - the text layers move through and then the "watch now" icon appears. If you click the icon right after it appears on the slide, the slide does NOT move to the video slide IMMEDIATELY. There is a really long delay - I count up to 21 seconds. I want the slide to move immediately when a user clicks the icon. That is where I need your help.

  • [deleted] replied

That is not what's happening on my end. The play icon comes in as the last layer (31 seconds into the slide), and once I click it, the slideshow proceeds in 1 second to the next slide. I'm not sure how are you seeing 21 seconds delay. The settings do not indicate that and we cannot see this delay either. Just to make sure my colleagues also checked on it, and they did not experience any delay either.

Are you sure that you are clicking the correct layer ? The linked layer is the play icon, not the "watch now" text.

Hi - So where I see the delay is if you are on a fresh reload of the site and you sit and watch the slideshow play, and the icon appears, you click on the icon right after it appears - there is a delay and it doesn't move forward. It sits there for a long time, I have to click the icon multiple times with nothing happening.

Now if the slideshow has played through and it is sitting stagnant for a while - then click the button it moves forward right away. But that's because it has worked through whatever timing is behind it.

I've tried this in Safari, Firefox and Chrome.

As I can see, in the meantime you've switched out the slider to another copy that has only two slides. This one indeed has a delay, but that is because you've applied 600000ms (600seconds) to the slide duration. The second slide also has 77000ms duration. This is why the slides are delayed.

If you leave the slide duration at default, and use the #start trigger on the play button, it should work properly without any delay, exactly how I explained it earlier.
