I made my 1st slide, and I copied it so I can use the model to do the 2nd one. The problem is on the 2nd slide the layers are locked and I can change or delete them. And when I create new layers on the 2nd slide the layers from the 1st one overwrites them all. It's a mess. How to fix?

Copying a slide does not lock its layers. Also, layers from the original slide cannot overwrite the new slide's layers. Did you use one of our slider templates ? I believe you might be seeing static layers from other slides. Static layers stay through multiple slides and they are grayed out on slides other than where they were originally added. You can turn off static behavior for layers in their Transitions tab.
