Can't Import Layers

    Hello,

I'm trying to import layers from one slide to another within the same slider but the slides don't load in the importer.  I've checked the system status and don't see anything problematic, but maybe you could give it a look.  Log in credentials have been sent on previous tickets; let me know if you need them again. Here is a screen shot, though, of my system status info, so it may not be necessary.  The last line which didn't come out in the shot (WP remote functions) says OK.

    Hello mary feuer,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.

First of all, we're sorry for the delayed response, we had a national holiday and we were out of the office for a few days.

I've only found login for another site of yours (http://ikf.913.myftpupload.com), not sure if that's the correct one, as it differs from the URL you attached to this ticket. Anyway, I've created a test slider and tested the layer copy between slides and it's working for me there. In case we needed to check the https://crackedvesselvintage.com site, please attach the login details here.

Thank you, but this user does not have any permissions. See attached screenshot:

    So sorry, try now

Unfortunately the permissions are still not proper. It looks like as in the screenshot now, and when I manually try to access LS, I get: Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.

OK, I will just make it admin. I had a special permission set up for investigating issues and it's worked fine in other situations, but something must have gone wrong. Try the same log in and password in a minutes or two and I will just switch it to admin, which should be able to access anything.

    Thank you. This worked.
I've tested the layer copying between slides and it was working fine. I've imported the v5 demo slider and was able to move/copy layers between slides without any issue. You can check that the "LayerSlider" text layer was copied to all other slides from the first one.
How exactly are you trying to copy them ? It worked for me with both the ctrl+c ctrl+v method, and by using right click in the editor -> copy layer / paste layer too.

    Hello,

I am selecting "add layer" and then "import layer" from the list that pops up. This has always worked before, and it doesn't work now. This method is to me the most obvious method. It never occurred to me to do the way you did, probably because right click is rarely used on a Mac, and because the option to do it the other way is labeled and sitting right there. I'll do it the way you did, but you may want to remove that option from the list of ways to add a layer if it isn't going to work.

Thank you for the feedback. That layer import method also works for us, see attached screenshot. But it indeed seems like something is preventing the sliders from loading on your end. We did not receive any other reports from our users (other than yours) regarding this feature not working. So the issue is most likely localized on your end, might be related to the random server issues you've experienced before, or a new item that could be conflicting. But given the history of your past tickets, I'd bet on the temporary server problems you have sometimes.

Well, I would agree with you except that I am on an entirely different server; I moved from a managed Wordpress situation to cPanel. Ordinarily if I start seeing small failures like this in Layerslider since I've switched, it ends up having something to do with my caching or asset optimization. But I've got no caching or optimization enabled right now. I started off with a complete plugin conflict test. Since you've pointed out other ways to accomplish the task, it's not a big deal, but I sure would love to know what could be causing the problem.

Thank you for the feedback. We'll check on this feature to see if we can find anything wrong on our end.

    Hello,

I am still having this problem. I can't solve it using the ctrl-V method because I am trying to a large number of slides from another slider. When I hit the "import" button, the page comes up with headers only, no sliders to choose from at all.

    Here's a screen shot

As I've mentioned before, this feature works fine for us. We've tested it, but did not find any error from our end. Also, we did not receive a single report by other users about it not working properly. Currently, the only user that is facing this issue with the layer/slide imports, is you. Based on these and given your ticket history, we have to assume that the problem is localized on your end. Either a theme/plugin conflict or a server problem.

    Attila,

I'm not really sure why the fact that I'm the only one reporting this matters. I didn't say it's a Layerslider bug; I said I am having this issue. I'm asking for help. Isn't that what support is for? In a previous response (and this one) you chalked this issue up to server issues, "given the history of (your) past tickets." I want you to know that NONE of the issues that have come up for me with Layerslider have actually been the result of "temporary server issues:" that was what YOU said the problem was. In reality, every problem you labeled that way when I was on Managed Wordpress ended up being solved by changing some sort of server setting. This is not a temporary server issue: it's a permanent one with a solution.I was not having issues with ANY other plugin, just yours, so despite the fact that Layerslider did not create the issue, I'd still have expected you to participate in finding the solution.  I was able to solve these problems with the help of the Wordpress support I subscribe to, and did not bother reporting back because it doesn't seem like you really care as long as you can say Layer Slider isn't to blame. I have already told you, also, that I am on an entirely different server than I was when this problems came up, so to keep focusing on the limitations of my past system makes no sense.
