    Hello

On this website – cranleycliniclondon.co.uk – I use LayerSlider at the top of every page. The sliders have words on them.

The problem: When in mobile responsive view the banners are sliding down proportionately and showing at full width.

    What I need is to

Can I do this in the settings? How?

Or do I need to make new banners and add some CSS to the pages to tell the site to show the mobile version instead of the desktop (original)?

Are both options possible? Which one would you recommend?

You can only see the site if you login to Wordpress, would you like the login?

    Kind regards

    Charlie

    Hello Charlie,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.

Since version 6 of LayerSlider you have the option to display layers only on certain devices (desktop, mobile, tablet). This feature gives you the option to create separate layers and layouts for mobile and desktop view in the same slider, and only show them on the required device.

Additionally to the device specific layers, you could also build two sliders with different sizes or with different content for desktop/mobile, include them both to the site, and only display them (using the Hide over and Hide under options) on the required device.

Both of these methods should work, but the second is likely better in your case.

Thank you very much Attila, that's really helpful.

I think the first option could be the quickest option. However can I change the canvas size for mobile only?

Or can I change the setting specifically for mobile where the image doesn't shrink, and just looses width left and right.

If I can do the above great, if not I'll have to make 'mobile specific' banners.

Unfortunately the device specific option is only available for layers. It cannot affect the slider size or layout.

Thanks Attila, I thought that was the case.

How do I set the banner so that it doesn't shrink when scaled down on browser width? So it just looses left and right opposed to keeping the full width of the banner?

There is no such layout available at the moment. You can leave it as a normal responsive slider, so all sizes will be scaled proportionally. Or set it to fullwidth/fullsized so it will always fill the width/height of the browser. Or set it to fixed size, in that case it will not scale at all. But unfortunately it's not possible to only scale a slider's height and crop it's width. One more setting you could try is the Responsive under (hidden by default), you can use that to enable responsive mode only after a certain screen size.
