Could you please explain to me how revisions work? I must be missing something. I am told I have 67 revisions available. When I click on "browse revisions," a timeline opens that has 10 months ago (November 30) on one end, and 5 minutes ago on the other. If I move backward on that timeline, sliding or clicking the circle into different spots, nothing happens until I reach December 1 of 2017. If I go to the far end and begin moving forward from November 30, I can get up to the same date. It seems I have revisions until December 1, 2017, and then no more until 5 minutes ago. Revisions are enabled under add-ons, and have always been. I think I read that there is a limit of 100 revisions; I would of course interpret this to mean that the oldest revisions would drop off in favor of allowing the newer revisions to save, but that does not seem to be the case. It looks like I have a large array of revisions to choose from that are 10 months old, but only 1 that is recent. Could this actually be true? If so, what is the purpose of that? I would never revert to a 10 month old version of a slider, but reverting to a day-old, hour-old, or week-old version would definitely be something that comes up from time to time.
I saw a list on a previous thread that you printed; it looks like it's a list of available revisions. This list does not come up for me anywhere.
Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.
The Revisions Preferences section that you're looking for can be accessed from the Add-Ons menu, located on the WP sidebar under LayerSlider. You can set the limit of how many revisions can be per slider and also how often it should save. Revisions are created automatically when you make changes to a slider. Individual instances cannot be removed, only all of them at once. So it's not possible to only delete the recent ones. Also, the oldest revision gets deleted first after the limit. Are you sure you edited this exact slider recently, or that the revision option was enbaled the whole time ? It is a premium feature so it only works when the plugin is activated.
That may explain why many are missing, because during the period of several months when I was not working on this slider, I did deauthorize it and use that install elsewhere (I have 3 installs). BUT... that doesn't explain why my much more recent revisions are not there. There has been an activation code on this slider for sure since I began working on it again, which has been about a week. Revisions are turned on (I made sure of that when I re-added the code), and every time I save, which is often, the number of available revisions has been increasing by one. Yes, I'm sure that's the slider I was editing; it was the only slider I was working on. I realized very quickly I did not like the change I had made, and within minutes I looked to revise it, but found only the very latest revision waiting for me.
