Slider layer resizing in a strange way, How to do Custom CSS

    Hi,

I have a made a slider with a background image and a text box on top of it.  I have colored the text box and placed it where I'd like it to be.  My problem is when the window is resized (or viewed vertically on an iPad) the box resizes way too narrow.  I'm unsure how to set it so it stays in proportion and about the same width.

Which leads to my next question.  When using the Custom CSS box to the right of the other options in Style, how exactly do I use that?  I have set a class in the attributes box and then used that class to target in the custom CSS.  However, that doesn't seem to do anything to the object.

I've attached a couple of screen shots for you to see.  Thank you!

    Hello Jennifer Pack,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.

I'd recommend to use the plugin's built-in options in the Styles tab instead of custom CSS. The settings will always work as intended and you can achieve the same styling with them. If you set a background color for the text there, it should follow up on it across all screens.

You could also utilize the device specific layers for better overall layouts. Since version 6 you have the option to display layers only on certain devices (desktop, mobile, tablet). This new feature gives you the option to create separate layers and layouts for mobile and desktop view in the same slide, and only show them on the required device. Furthermore, you also have the option to set a minimum font size for texts on mobiles.

Additionally to the device specific layers, you could also build two sliders with different sizes or with different content for dekstop/mobile, include them both to the site, and only display them (using the Hide over and Hide under options) on the required device.

If you are still experiencing problems, please show us your site or a test page where we can check the slider.

Thank you. I've logged in, but I do not see any slider on http://www.markcutlerdesign.biz currently. Where exactly can we check the slider ?

Hi, The slider is currently on the page "home-slider".  I can go in and set that to be the main page if that will help.  Thanks.

Thank you, that page is fine. My colleagues and I will look into this and get back to you shortly.

Thank you for your patience. As I can see you did not create a separate layer for tablets with the device specific layers feature, so I'm not sure what should I check in the admin. As mentioned, that should solve this problem, please try to set it up that way.
