I'm trying to create a full-page slider for my website's homepage that has a video from Vimeo (open to YouTube, too) as the background, and a sentence of white text overlaying it. I'm just trying to figure out how to fix one thing: Is there a way to remove the play button from the center of the video? I checked the embed settings from Vimeo and see no option for this. It does disappear after a couple seconds, but I'd rather not have it at all. The text is centered directly over the video so the play button looks very awkward when everything starts up.
Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.
Both of these problems will be solved if you add the video as a slide background. That way there will be no play button, the video will start automatically and loop after it ends.
Thank you, Attila. I think that's how I have it set up- see attachment. The play button still appears, though. Please let me know if I'm doing something wrong!
Yes, see here: https://wordpress-139332-525950.cloudwaysapps.com/ It's a staging site and might come up with a warning, but click to proceed. Also, I couldn't get the video to loop so I added in extra embed coding from Vimeo.
That is Vimeo's own play button. Unfortunately it cannot be changed externally (by us or anyone else) as it's the default Vimeo video player button. It can only be removed if Vimeo provides an option for it.
Alternatively you could add the video as self hosted HTML5, so the loop will work properly when it's added as slide background.

There might be a custom style being applied on the video resulting in the play button still showing. Is there a test page where we can check on this ?

Thank you. My colleagues and I will look into this to see if we can find anything wrong, and get back to you shortly.
Thank you for your patience.

Thank you for looking into this- the self-hosted HTML5 option works much better!
