I believe that there is something interfering with the availability of the images. Could you please check if they are still properly accessible, or if their image paths are correct ? You could even try to re-add them to see if that works. Or alternatively it could be a cache/synchronization/backup solution that is resetting back the slider to an earlier state or falsely caching the images. Please also check whether you use any of the above mentioned methods/solutions on your site.
From time to time, when I visit the site, all I will get is just text of the images and no images at all!
When this happened I've checked in Chrome,Firefox,Edge. It happens across all 3.
I go into the plug in and all I do is save the slide again, and it seem to fix it a short time. I few days, to a couple of weeks.
