After recent updates YouTube videos have stopped working in Layer Slider, even in Admin Editor.

I've recorder video with with console open so you could see what is going on.

I have also tried to use Layer Slider on a blank WordPress instance, without any other plugins and there is the same problem.

Chrome Version 66.0.3359.181 (Official Build) (64-bit)

In Firefox thing are working fine except few errors like:

    ls-admin-slider-builder.js:4979:1
    TypeError: top is undefined

Failed to execute ‘postMessage’ on ‘DOMWindow’: The target origin provided (‘https://www.youtube.com’) does not match the recipient window’s origin (‘https://www.donausoja.rs’).

    Same issue here as well.

I am seeing tons of posts on ThemeForest from themes that use layerslider with the same issue. So far no fix.

One of the web design sites I go to has about 60 posts with same issue, so it must have come from an update. It is in Chrome only so far....

    Hello webinvaders,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.

The reason for this is Google Chrome 66's Autoplay Policy Change. Google introduced new browser restrictions, which will prevent automatic video/audio playback in certain situations. Autoplay is now allowed only when either the media won't play sound, after the user clicks or taps on the site, or (on desktop) if the user has previously shown an interest in media on the site.

Another follow-up update will arrive soon from us, which will provide further options to mitigate these restrictions. Since it's governed by the browser, there is no way to restore the previous behavior. However, we can supply alternate options like autoplaying muted videos where visitors can restore sound with a separate button.

    Thanks for clearing that up.

Since i use YouTube video more as a background for slides, muted video will not be an issue.

When do you expect this alternate option to be implemented?

Thank you for the feedback. The dev team is already working on possible solutions. There is no ETA available yet, but we will include them to the upcoming releases as soon as we are ready.
