The first image on the slider, 300 Kent has links to the post setup in the slider but when I publish it's not on the live site. It just goes to the next slider.

I believe the problem is that the slide linking is positioned over the layer linking. Please check the Slide Options -> Slide Linking section and set the dropdown menu to underneath layers to see if that works. You have to press the Show More Options button first to see this section.
