Buttons and scrolling

    Hi,

Thanks for this lovely plugin, I've been building the home page of a new site completely with it for all the effects and transitions. I have a few questions regarding a couple of customisations I'm trying to achieve:

    1. Button Outlines: I'm creating rounded buttons from the default available in the slider's settings, but they all seem to be solid buttons. How do I create a button which is just an outline with text inside it?
    2. Scroll Control: The nature of this site is a little odd, as it sort of starts at the bottom, and each slide appears downward, as though climbing up the page vertically (slide 1 is the roots of a tree, slide 2 goes up the trunk, slide 3 up to the branches, 4 sky, and so on) using the 'sliding from top' transition. Is there a way to enable a vertical scroll, or allow the usage of the up and down arrow keys (currently the left and right arrow keys allow a scroll from one slide to the other, which feels a little counter-intuitive to the design of the layout).
    3. Animation Query: In one of the slides, I want to have a bird that flies across the slide, from right to left. Would the best way to achieve this be via a gif, as wide as the slide, or is there a better way?
    4. Tooltips: Would it be possible to create small tooltips on highlight areas of the slide? Like a small circle with a + in it, when hovered over, would display a tooltip?

I'd be grateful if you could help me work out solutions to these issues.

    Hello A,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.

You could simply use a text layer instead of a button and apply border, rounded corners and colors on it, to achieve this look. The text layer can be linked the same way to function as a 'button'.

The up and down arrow keys cannot be used to navigate the slider currently. The vertical scrolling is possible, but in that case you would need to enable and use the Play By Scroll feature.

Yes, a GIF would be most likely the best approach. Or depending on the movement of the bird, you could simply use a layer transition (offset) with easing.

Unfortunately there is no option to set up such hover trigger for layers. You cannot reveal a layer by hovering over another one. What you could do as a workaround is to hide (opacity 0) the tooltip layers by default and apply Hover Transition opacity 1 on them. They will become visible when hovered over. This is not ideal, but it's the closest you can do at the moment.

    Hi Attila.

Thanks for all the suggestions, the text layer option definitely worked.

I am still having an issue with the up-down navigation of the slides though. Right now, the only way to transition from slide to slide is to click on a button that triggers the next slide. Even though I have Play By Scroll activated, using the mouse wheel or trackpad on my Mac isn’t scrolling between slides. This feels a little odd as the only way to transition between slides is to click the button, and the user might feel a little stuck if he or she intuitively doesn’t go there.

Edit: Turns out this is because I'm using my Wordpress theme's Visual Composer tool to build the page. Because I'm enabling it in a fullscreen row, the scroll effect isn't working the same way.

Thanks for the prompt assistance, I really do appreciate it.

    1. Please try to enable "Start immediately" option under Slider Settings / Slideshow

    2. Please set the Full size mode to normal, or make sure that all parent element of the slider has 100% height.

    Hi George,

Thank you, the second suggestion seems to have fixed the gap issue on Safari.

However scrolling is still not working with trackpad or mouse. The arrow keys do work in terms of advancing the images, as usual, but again, using left-right arrows to go up and down does feel a little weird.

We can confirm that this is an issue: if there is nothing else on your website but a play by scroll slider, you cannot navigate by scrolling in some cases. We are very sorry for your inconveniences and of course we will fix this issue soon.

That's extremely unfortunate. This pretty much means I can't use your plugin for my site since it has to launch in the next couple of weeks. Can I get a refund for my purchase since I will not be using it anymore?
