To clarify, I want a slideshow that does not advance slides unless a custom button is pressed. I know that #next as a button link will advance, but I don't know how to make a slideshow that does not advance automatically... like infinite duration per slide
Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.
You can disable the Auto-start slideshow option in the Slider Settings to achieve this. By disabling that setting, the slider will not start automatically after page load, so you can navigate with the buttons.
That is truly surprising. I don;t know if you realize it, but LayerSlider could become a pretty powerful presentation tool with the addition of that simple ability. It could be as easy as a "stop on this slide" checkbox.
You can already achieve this, all you need to do is not start the slideshow. You should set it up the following way. Put a button on each slide and apply "Switch to the next slide" on them in the Linking field. This will advance the slider by one slide without actually starting the slideshow. Of course the Auto-start slideshow has to be disabled.
How do I automatically pause the slideshow at every slide?
I'm building a presentation and will use buttons to advance to the next slide.

Thank you Atilla, but once I play, it keeps playing. how do I enter a STOP into each slide so that it does not advance automatically?
Once you start the slideshow it will keep playing. You can manually stop it again, but there is no option to automatically stop it after each slide.
