LayerSlider WP Not Saving Changes

I recently installed the latest version of Avada, and purchased and activated a license for the latest version of LayerSlider WP. The fourth slider on the home page has two images, and there only needs to be one. When I remove the unwanted image from the slider, LayerSlider WP does not save my changes. Instead, I receive the following error message:

"It seems there is a server issue that prevented LayerSlider from saving your work. Please check LayerSlider -> Settings -> System Status for potential errors, try to temporarily disable themes/plugins to rule out incompatibility issues or contact your hosting provider to resolve server configuration problems. Your HTTP server thrown the following error: \n\n Not Found"

When I check the System Status, the only note is that the WP Debug Mode is disabled. I am not a developer and not sure how to resolve this or if this will fix the issue in LayerSlider WP.

    Hello Kimberly Maiocco,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.

There is no issue like this present in the latest release of our plugin (6.6.8.), so unfortunately it is most likely a conflict problem on your installation. Since there are no errors in the System Status we can rule out server configuration issues for now. The WP debug mode is not needed and you don't have to use it.

To start troubleshooting please try to temporary disable other plugins and switch to a default WP theme to see if that solves the issue.

I should try disabling plug-ins one at a time to see what the compatibility issue is with the LayerSlider? Do you know how I can create a staging site? I would love to have that option so I can test things like disabling plug-ins and trying new slide features.

Hello Attila, I would like to refer you to this ticket : https://kreatura.ticksy.com/ticket/1440575/ in which you told me that no other user had reported the same issue. I have reported it previously, as well as problems where saved changes revert to older versions. Personally, I have already done plug in conflict tests, and still encounter these issues.  So.... just wanted to throw this in there since it's clear I'm not actually the only one experiencing this problem.

I believe you should start off by disabling every plugin/theme to see if that helps. And if it does, you can enable them back one by one to find the cultprit.

Unfortunately the staging site is not something that we can help you with.

Please let us know of the results.

As I mentioned, I've done all this. The problem continues to occur.

    Dear Mary,

As it's Kimberly's ticket, I've wrote that reply to her. Please keep the troubleshooting of your case in your own tickets to avoid misunderstandings.

    Dear Attila,

I chimed in when I saw you telling Kimberly, as you had told me, that no one else was experiencing this problem. If you're going to make a statement like that on a public ticket to more than one person, you might expect to be called on it.  I will butt out at this point, but clearly, this is not just the problem of one user.

One guy says that if you create a new slider from scratch, it saves. Looks like this is a common problem with the slider and the creators are just passing the buck around:

I created a new slider from scratch and it saved, however I was only able to make changes and save them about four times, and then I got the same error message. I created a new slider from scratch making note of all my changes so it would display correctly, and the new slider would not save. I am going to wait until tomorrow before I try again. This is really disappointing.

    Dear Kimberly,

Judging from your description, it is almost certainly a server issue. As you've mentioned the plugin saves new sliders properly. The error starts to happen when more content is added to the slider. This is because your server settings limit the plugin data. Larger sliders with more content are no longer working/saving because of some kind of memory limitation or execution time limit. Unfortunately we do not have access to your server settings and cannot adjust them, only your hosting can. I'd recommend to contact your host with this case and ask them to look into it. They can check the error logs around the time when it happens to find out what is wrong exactly, and change the settings accordingly.
