This has happened to me more times than I can count. If your product were not so lovely looking, there is simply no way I would continue working with it.
I am in the middle of creating a slider, on which I have been working for many hours. I have saved my work MULTIPLE times, leaving the page and coming back, even, to find the slider still looking fine. right where I left it. HOWEVER - I am now STUCK in an "HTTP ERROR." I've been told that this represents a server error on my end, but I'm moving all over the place on other tabs on the same browser, and anyway, there should be no reason for the slider to UNSAVE previously saved work, even if it has somehow not saved what I've done since my last save.
I am attaching a screen shot of the "locked" page I am currently on in my slider edit. I can't close the window or do anything. Nothing works. I am afraid to close the browser tab and reopen, because every time I do this, I lose HOURS of work, not just the work I've done since the last save, but hours of previous work as well. This work doesn't even appear in the revisions. To illustrate, I am also attaching a screen shot of the page I use to test sliders (you can access this page at the link I provided): it is published, but not listed in the menu on my webpage. When I look at that page, it shows a very, very early edit of the work I have been doing (barely past the template level) for the past several hours - and, as I said, I have saved multiple times since the slider looked like this. So... I'm pretty sure if I close this window, I will be back several hours in my work. I don't understand why this is happening. I know you will say this error reflects a problem in my server, but if that is the problem, why am I able to move fluidly through several open pages, just not this one?
Please help, because I love what I am able to do with your product - once I actually get to do it. But I can't take these interruptions anymore!!!
Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.
Please note that there is no such issue present in the latest release of our plugin. No other user reported this error so far, and we did not experience this on our end either throughout the tests. So unfortunately this seems to be a localized issue on your end, as you've also mentioned, a server related problem.
As we've discussed before in the previous tickets, we do not have the necessary tools or permission to investigate your server settings, let alone change them. You will need to contact with your hosting and ask them to look into this problem thoroughly. They can see every error - including the PHP errors - and search the logs that contain information on why these saving issues occur. They should be able to locate the exact source of the issue and adjust the settings accordingly.
We understand your frustration and sorry about these inconveniences, but we cannot fix an error that is not generated on our end. I'm afrad this can only be addressed by your hosting.
