After adding a few layers the preview stops working for both Slide and Layer. And then the slider in the page does nothing - just shows the background. But it still works fine with the downloaded demo slider.

There is no issue like this present in the latest release of our plugin (6.6.7.), so unfortunately it is most likely a conflict problem on your installation or a server configuration issue. To start troubleshooting please try to temporary disable other plugins and switch to a default WP theme to see if that solves the issue. Please also check the LayerSlider System Status, located on the WP sidebar for any related error messages that could provide more information.
I have been trying to replicate the issue and I think I have narrowed it down. The layers stop working with a certain combo of options. If you chose any rotate at 360 degrees and chose infinite loops the layers stop working and only the background of the slide appears. I will work around this but it is something for you to look at. If you can replicate it - perhaps an error message would be a good idea so users can avoid it? And not loose hours of work.
